Morgan appeared in a film on AIDS recognition and treatment, Safe Sex for Men and Women. Part of the proceeds was donated towards the American Foundation for AIDS Research. She serves as a member of the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan was the leader of numerous fund-raising efforts to combat the disease and been a witness to the Congressional Special Committee on AIDS Education. Morgan is on the Board of Governors of APLA as well as Amfar. C. Everett Koop asked her to at times take his place at AIDS occasions. She also hosted an AIDS Awareness Special with news anchorman Steve Bell. Ted Koppell and Morgan have been on Nightline twice to discuss AIDS. Morgan has been nominated for an Emmy for her performance in the Murphy Brown episode written by Diane English for her. In the spring she co-starred with Joan Rivers in ABC television's Your Money or Your Wife. In the following week, she kicked off her season of summer with Murder At The PTA Luncheon created by Von Zeerneck/Sertner. It also had Cindy Williams and Marla gibbs. Her next project took Morgan to Luxembourg to be a part of Harmony Gold's production of Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady which also starred Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan played the main character in a thriller about psychological issues that was exclusively produced through the USA Network. It received the top rating ever recorded by the network.
